Bishop Smith's Easter message
The Rt. Rev. Kirk S. Smith
Bishop of Arizona

Bishop Kirk S. SmithMany of us look back to an event in our lives that we would describe as a "turning point" or as a "defining moment." Sometimes turning points are positive-you got a promotion you didn't expect, or your inherited some money that allowed you to pursue your dream. Other defining moments can be negative-you miraculously survived a car accident, or were forced to move to a new home. In any case, you look back to that event as the moment when your life irrevocably changed.

Throughout the week, you will be introduced to the "magic" of a changed life through a commitment to Jesus by Living Through Your Baptismal Covenant.

We shall all be waiting for you,
Your friends,

birth announcement
The Rev. Romeo Rabusa (priest in charge of St. Luke's at the Mountain, Phoenix) and his wife Elizabeth Rabusa are proud to announce the birth of their son, Jéan-Marie Joseph Rabusa on Fri., March 7th, at 7:53 p.m. at Banner Estrella Hospital. While births are always a reason for thanksgiving, Jéan-Marie Joseph's birth is even more so since his mother is undergoing treatment for cancer. Our apologies for the confusion.

A Final Thought

The New York Times carried this week a timely review of some new work by three religious thinkers: two are Christians and one a Jew. To the best of my knowledge, every single church, mission, and preaching station within the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona now has a very basic website. Please go to www.azdiocese.org/map/list.html and check your church's website and its posted information and let me know of any changes that need to be made.

If you encounter any communication problems, please report it to me at greta@azdiocese.org.

Peace,
